45 and 46 Down, Badlands…Not So Bad After All

As I posted the other day I was just a sliver away from 45 so I knew that would be an easy level to grab, and sure enough, two quests into Badlands and I was done with 45. Unfortunately hitting 45 made some of the mobs grey to me in places like Uldaman and the early beasts in Badlands. I think I may have to skip a section of the guide in order to make sure I’m maximizing my leveling abilities.

Back to the Badlands. The last time I leveled a toon in Badlands was about a year ago and on a Human Paladin. Some quests seemed to take much longer than expected and without the benefit of a pet and ranged dps, Badlands wasn’t much fun. It was a totally different experience last night. I was flying through quests like there was no tomorrow and I don’t think my health dropped below ¾ at any time for the entire night. I also tamed a Ridge Stalker Patriarch for Dash 2 and Prowl 2.

Honestly, nothing spectacular came out of Badlands. No great weapon or gear upgrades, just a couple levels and some pet skills, oh and the Fiery Blaze enchant. I think I’ll slap this on a weapon around level 49 when I take another stab at Arathi Basin.

I also really didn’t see any PvP action in Badlands. I ran across two Blood Elves doing the same quest as me once, but they either were too afraid to attack a Hunter five levels above them or were too busy questing. I think I could have taken them. Other than that, I was part of a “Gank Train” in the caves of Uldaman when a ?? Troll Warrior steamrolled me as he was leading some lowbies through the cave for a speed run through Uldaman. I let it slide, no retaliation tonight.

I ended the night by doing one Arathi Basin, more for the heck of it than anything. My friend Josh joined me on his 49 Night Elf Rogue, Ragz. We came out of the gates poorly and ended up down 4 nodes to 1 really quickly but somehow came back with a vengeance taking the Blacksmith, Lumber Mill and Farm and the points ticked almost even, with the Horde at a slight lead. In the end it came down to us holding 3 nodes to their 2 but they had enough of a lead to sneak out with a 2000 to 1980 win. A little depressing, but a close, hard fought game. With that, I called it a night.

Next up, back to STV. Hopefully for the last time.
