Last night was a pretty slow night, I didn’t even bang out a single level, so still stuck at 44. At 45 I get to upgrade my food again and can get that happy feeling of being 50% done with the 40s, but I was pretty tired last night and finished all but 1 ½ bars of 45, easily finishable tonight.
Possibly the highlight of the night was that I finally decided on a name for my Ravager. I decided on Gorefield, a decent play on words and really syncs with Caspurr nicely, two cartoon character names twisted to fit my pets. It was a toss up at first between Gorefield and Igore, but a decision was made.
I was worried that Stranglethorn Vale was going to be a nightmare again last night when I was collecting Skullsplitter Tusks (awful droprate btw) and a ?? Tauren Druid unstealthed behind me and one-shotted me. It is a long run through STV to your corpse and it made me mad having to make the run and I decided that I would return the favor and gank at least one horde before I left STV for the night. I got my chance when I was working on my last quest, Excelsior, to kill an Elder Saltwater Crocodile. I came across a 38 Troll Hunter heading out to the Mysterious Island, followed him and when I got close, unleashed Gorefield on him. +4 honor, mission accomplished.
To further lament on awful droprates, I felt like I was in droprate hell at times. First, collecting Skullsplitter Tusks (21% droprate), then Singing Blue Crystals (31% droprate), then Snapjaw Crocolisk Skins (28% droprate) and finally Mistvale Giblets (17% droprate) for one of the funnier quests, Scaring Shakey. If anyone is keeping score, that’s a 24% droprate overall, basically translating into killing at least four mobs for each quest item. It would be one thing if it were all rested XP, but I don’t ever seem to have any of that.
Enough of STV, next is Badlands.
