Duskwood is located a little too close to Karazhan for my liking, especially because it is a contested zone. This basically means that at any time a Horde 70 can ride through town and gank you. Usually it is a Rogue and they are sneaking around picking people off on the rods. At 70 a Rogue can easily one-shot me. Proof? Ok, a 70 Undead Rogue named Roguerage was riding through, saw me and one-shotted me. At least he had a cool name.
In Duskwood my guide had me do a few of the longer quest chains here including the Worgen ones, the Telescope ones and the Stitches one. Unfortunately, the guide didn’t have me finish any of them. Maybe when I hit 70 I’ll go back and finish the Stitches quest at least since it’s funny to see Stitches come sauntering down the road.
For those who don’t know, there is a Hermit at the cemetery in Duskwood who has you get Ghost Hair, Zombie Juice and a number of other items, each time saying he needs it to do something for himself when in the end he is really creating a giant abomination named Stitches. After you get all his “ingredients” Stitches comes to life and heads down the main road, ganking lowbies as he goes, until a high level kills him or the guard finally do. It’s really funny the first time you see him because it’s scary as hell to see him coming down the road at you.
I also got the Morladim quest chain here, but again didn’t finish it. This is sort of a sad story about a warrior who heads to fight the Scourge and comes home many years later to find Duskwood changed to how it looks today and his home empty and family dead. He discovers their graves and begins to wildly beat on the tombstone with his sword when some gravediggers come along to help/stop him and in a blind rage he kills them. In despair he then takes his own life only to be resurrected as an undead Lich in the graveyard. The end of the quest chain has you destroy his undead body and then go find his only living child to tell her what happened and that he has been redeemed.
The good news is that while questing in Duskwood I dinged 29! That means time for some Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin over the weekend. I’ve decided that as soon as I ding 70 I want to be able to buy as many pieces of the Season 2 PvP set as I can and I’d rather not set foot in Warsong Gulch or Arathi Basin after level 70, because the Alliance really gets creamed in there and the honor gain isn’t as good as Alterac Valley (which I actually like playing). So this means 30 Warsong Gluch and 50 Arathi Basin marks before I can go back to leveling.
On to the battlegrounds!
