It’s a new day, back from vacation and time to really renew the push to 60 before I go away again on Thursday for the long Labor Day weekend. With all this rested experience still I decided to see if I could push for 58.
The Yeti quests in Everlook proved to be quite rewarding with the rested experience bonus as each would net me ~600xp a kill. I did have to contend with some unruly Horde in the area, specifically a 58 Blood Elf Warlock who jumped me while I was skinning and a 70 Undead Warrior escorting a 48 Tauren Shaman who killed me twice when I was turning in quests at Donova Snowden and Sidalva. I still can’t take on a 70 so decided to run through the cave since he apparently was still hated by the Furlbogs, but I was too slow and died. All this left a bad taste in my mouth, but I was done with Winterspring anyways and moved on to the Burning Steppes.
In the Burning Steppes I got to do the Ogre quests, the one to collect Broodling Essences and the one to kill Dragonkin. I made a fortune in skins from the last two quests as a couple other Alliance were doing it too and weren’t skinning anything. When I was done here I had dinged 58 and had 3 stacks of Rugged Leather and 2 stacks of Thick Leather, just in the Burning Steppes alone. This translates into 50 or 60 gold easily on the Auction House.
I did also get repeatedly ganked by a 60 Orc Shaman running around collecting herbs or mining nodes. I almost got him the second time around, but he got the jump on me when I was low on health and Gorefield was fighting another mob.
Not that it matters anymore, but I also started the Onyxia quest chain and can go save the prisoner in Blackrock Depths if I feel like it at some point. Maybe after I hit 70, but for now it was quick and easy experience for running back and forth from Stormwind.
Up next is Western Plaguelands.
