48 and 49, Another Arathi Basin Bracket to Dominate?

Yesterday was Saturday, a day without the daughter, housework done early, meaning plenty of time to dedicate to Powny and reaching the weekend goal of 49. As the title suggests, this was easily accomplished with runs through Tanaris and Feralas.

Tanaris was ultra-quiet in the morning. At one point I was the only one in Gadgetzan and the Pirate Cove. This really made questing simpler. No Horde to think/worry about plus no Alliance trying to steal my kills. I burned through the Pirate Hat quest and even got a Captain's Key to drop. Sadly the loot from the chest was less than spectacular and will hit the AH.

I was a bar away from 48, but had to take a break for lunch and to go get a haircut.

I came back online that night and quickly cleared out the rest of 48 and started in on 49 in Feralas. The naga quests on the island were simple as usual and quickly led me over to the mainland and away from Feathermoon. Here I made my way through the Yeti cave and then down to grab a Hyppogriph Egg before clearing out the Ogres when I came across a 46 Night Elf Rogue following the same guide as me and we joined up. I think I amazed him with how quickly I was switching and pulling mobs and burning them down. I don't usually stop until I'm out of mana, plus a pet really helps.

We also decided to do the Sprite quests where you kill Tauren and save Sprites. It's just a blind massacre at times. Unfortunately my party mate kept forgetting to get followup quests and I ended up killing twice as many mobs as I really needed. In the end it was just extra XP so I didn't complain.

Afterwards he had to go so I continued on to the Silithid Hive alone. I hate Silithid. Plain and simple, they suck. Here is where a moment of fun came up. A 48 Orc Hunter came across me. I was killing Silithid and he even helped me kill one and then surprisingly, sent his Ravager after me. I Feigned Death, popped Bestial Wrath and Rapid Fire and sent Gorefield after him. He was dead in seconds. I don't think I lost even a quarter of my health. I don't know what he was thinking.

By the time I was done with questing I dinged 49. Since my questing took me to Darnassus I decided to queue up for some Arathi Basin for the heck of it. Game 1, I join when Horde have us 4-capped and are at 1700 resources, we lose. Games 2 and 3, we roll them hard, constantly pushing, almost 5-capping each game. Game 4, a long drawn out loss which in all honestly wasn't even close, we just sucked.

So in the end 2 wins, 2 losses. Seems promising. Back to Arathi Basin for 40 more tokens? I haven't decided yet.
